1. The Agreement
These terms apply to every vehicle hired from Bigg Boxx Rentals. By booking — online, by phone or in person — you accept these terms. The rental agreement you sign at pickup, together with these terms, forms the whole agreement.
2. Driver Requirements
Drivers must be 21 years or older and hold a current, valid licence appropriate to the vehicle (all listed vehicles drive on a standard car licence unless stated otherwise). International licences must be in English or accompanied by an accredited translation. Only nominated drivers may drive the vehicle.
3. Rates, Payment & Bond
All quoted rates include GST. Payment is due at pickup unless otherwise agreed in writing. A security bond may be held for the duration of the hire and is released after the vehicle is returned in accordance with these terms.
4. Damage Excess & Insurance
A damage excess of up to $6,500 applies to each incident. Excess-reduction options are available at pickup. Damage caused by negligence, prohibited use, or breach of these terms is not covered and remains the hirer's responsibility.
5. Use of the Vehicle
The vehicle must not be used off sealed roads (unless the vehicle is specified for it), to carry more passengers than seatbelts, to tow without written approval, to carry hazardous goods, or by any person under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Smoking is not permitted in any vehicle.
6. Pickup, Return & Late Fees
Vehicles are supplied clean and fuelled and must be returned the same way at the agreed time and location. Late returns may incur an additional day's hire. Refuelling, excessive-cleaning and toll-processing costs are charged at cost plus a reasonable administration fee.
7. Breakdowns & Accidents
Every hire includes 24/7 breakdown assistance — call us first on 03 8560 7038. In an accident: ensure safety, never admit fault, collect the other party's details, and notify us as soon as practicable. A claim form must be completed within 24 hours.
8. Cancellations
Booking requests can be cancelled free of charge any time before confirmation. Confirmed bookings cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice may incur a one-day hire fee where the vehicle cannot be re-hired.
9. One-Way Rentals
One-way hires between Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney are quoted individually and confirmed subject to fleet positioning. A one-way fee may apply and is always disclosed in the quote.
10. Privacy
We collect personal information solely to manage your hire (identity, licence and payment verification) and handle it in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles. We never sell your data.
